Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) - www.hslda.org

In 1983, two home schooling dads who also happened to be lawyers- Michael P. Farris and J. Michael Smithfounded Home School Legal Defense Association to defend and advance the constitutional rights of parents to direct the education of their children and protect family freedoms. Since then, HSLDA has defended hundreds of families whose choice to teach their own children was being challenged in the courts, legislatures and media. Today, more than 80,000 HSLDA members- families like yours- stand together to protect home school rights and freedoms.

In California, each year new bills threatening home education, private schools and parental rights are introduced. Roy Hanson’s and Jim Davis’s leadership, through Family Protection Ministries, has been strategic in stopping or amending dozens of damaging bills. Family Protection Ministries is critical in coordinating with other home school, education and family protection groups all across the state to assure a united approach to legislation affecting parental rights, religious freedoms and private home education.

Christian Family Schools of San Diego (CFS) - www.cfssd.org

CFS (Christian Family Schools) of San Diego promotes private Christian home schooling through local support groups throughout San Diego County. CFS organizes events and activities available to members and nonmembers, specifically the annual Expo Home School Convention featuring popular speakers and a large exhibit hall to assist home school families in all their curriculum needs.

San Diego Christian Homeschools (SDCH) - www.sdchristianhomeschools.com

San Diego Christian Home Schools is a support group for SD County Christian home schooling families. Their primary get togethers are Park Days which meet on various Fridays of each school month at 1:00pm. Park Days are a wonderful time of socialization and fun for parents and children. SDCH supports and encourages all methods of home schooling whether your family uses a private school, a PSP (Private Satellite Program), a charter school, files an affidavit independently or doesn’t file at all. A small yearly family membership fee is charged.

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) - www.military.com/ASVAB

If you're serious about joining the military, then get serious about the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).The ASVAB is a timed multi-aptitude test developed and maintained by the Department of Defense. Start now by taking the practice ASVAB tests. These practice tests will give you an idea of how you'll score, and identify areas that need improvement. How important is the ASVAB test? Your scores in four critical areas -- Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge -- count towards your Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score. The AFQT score determines whether you're qualified to enlist in the U.S. military. A high score will improve your chances of getting the specialty/job and signing bonus you want.
