High School Pre Planning: Parents of 8th and 9th Grade Students

Home schooling through high school proves to be challenging but rewarding. As your student matures there will be opportunities through their high school years to discuss politics, theology and world views.

To achieve a successful home school high school experience, Grace Christian High School strongly encourages and recommends that all 8th and 9th grade parents schedule an appointment to create a high school projection. This is simply a suggested road map of subjects that are required for graduation with a timetable covering all four years of high school.

Planning ahead for four years may seem daunting but experience has proven that a high school projection is a necessary tool for completing all the courses required by the state and Grace Christian School by your student’s junior or senior year. Indeed many of our students graduate early because they have completed the high school graduation requirements.

It is not too early for your 8th or 9th grade student to contemplate the future, taking into consideration their individual talents, abilities and interests.

Be assured that this is only a projection. As your student matures, changes may be made to accommodate any special interests. We also encourage our juniors and seniors to consider beginning Community College classes which may be used toward high school credits.  Foreign language is a subject that may be learned by attending a community college class.

Call the office as soon as possible and schedule an appointment with the registrar. A copy of the high school projection will be kept in your student’s Grace Christian Schools cum file as well as provided for your personal reference.
