“What advice do you have for parents to make the school year successful?”Pray. There are many different measures of success. A successful school year is more than achieving academic goals. A “family huddle” time helps to keep the family from drifting apart. Plan a time at least once a week for a family devotional and fun activity. Read a book together. Share ideas and insights.
Whenever possible, families should serve together. Find a ministry opportunity at church or in the community that everyone can take part in.
Prepare. Organization and routine are a great help in keeping children focused and on task. Have a place to keep track of assignments and activities. Having all materials on hand before they are needed will keep things moving. Keep a list of “I’m bored” books and chores to keep children motivated.
Be flexible. Life doesn’t always follow our plans. Be willing to make changes to meet any circumstance.
