Why Homeschool?
Did you know that there are over one million families in the United States who home school their children? In California there are approximately 180,000 students who are being taught at home. Home schooled students have the opportunity to learn all of the same things that are taught in our public schools, as well as many other topics that are not taught in our public schools. What's the difference?
Home schooled students have the opportunity to learn:
1. About any religion or cult or the occult from loving parents who, if Christian, are able to provide information from geography, history, archeology, the Bible, manuscripts, historical documents, science, biographies, eye witnesses, visits to churches or other religious sites, DVD.s, and or field trips that provide an education not allowed in our public schools.
2. About Origins: Evolution or Creation. Students in public schools will only be informed about evolution and fed dogma that is repeated year after year until it seemingly becomes the only view one is able to legitimately believe. Home schooled students are able to me informed about Creation, Design, and Evolution.
3. About peers or other students and the effects, both positive and negative that they may have towards one another. Home school parents or guardians may choose which peers, clubs, or organizations that they allow their students to participate with.
4. About moral absolutes. Public schools cannot legally teach about morality but do so anyway under values clarification. Home school students are allowed to learn about norms, values, and absolutes not even mentioned in the public system. Home school students can actually learn from the Bible absolute right and wrong ways to live, think, and believe.
5. About the world, countries, national and international policies and how they impact us from a Christian perspective.
Home schooled students throughout the United States normally score higher on all of their work as well as on exams given to all students throughout the country. With wise parents and or guardians home schooled students are able to receive a much broader and encompassing education then students in the public schools. This is all possible because the parent/teacher loves the students and does everything possible to prepare them for future life outside of the home. The public system offers a hodgepodge of teachers, curricula, beliefs, and students that overwhelms the learner and indoctrinates one to whatever philosophy is prevalent at the time. Home schooled students are in a safe environment learning from loving teachers (parents) and therefore achieving outstanding results in all areas of interest.
Thank the Lord that we all still have the opportunity to teach our children at home in the United States. Many countries do not allow such freedoms.
